There is a Config.txt file included with all the code needed within. what you need to do is apply labels and links to the variables

for example "App1-1=Blender" "App1-1=" is the code and "Blender" is the title shown, so you can change it to what ever you like the label to say, like "App1-1=Photoshop" the "App1-1=" you need to keep. App#-# is the label.

"Link1-1=" is the link to the .exe file you want to launch, so for example "Link1-1=C:/programs/blender.exe".

In the actual config.txt file quotes are not needed, and may affect the outcome of the launcher.

I had not noticed that I had the CC license set that you cannot modify or cannibalize the skin for re-use and sharing, my fault, I have change the license. You have FULL rights to download, modify, re-use, cannibalize, and share this as you see fit. You are to include credit to the original author, and cannot sell this in anyway.

Yes it is, but I have no idea how, I have not used Rainmeter, nor Windows in a couple years now, I use conky(rainmeter was based on) now (Linux). if I remember corectly you need to edit the .ini file, take the "[image]" example that corresponds to the globe image, and change it to a toggle to show other images, and have those new images (or text) shown link to other browsers. I will re-download the skin and take a look for you, its been a long time since I have worked on it, but I will not be able to test the skin.

Sorry for the delayed response I have been rather busy lately.

In the config file you have the apps EG "App1-1=" this is where the title for the app goes after the "=" Do not put quotes up.

Right underneath it is the "Link1-1=" this is where the path goes.

You need to find the app you want to run so skype (off memory) would be

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Skype\Skype.exe" No quotes

I'm new to rainmeter and was wondering how I edit what each tab opens up such as games, internet...etc. I really like this skin and I would like to use it but I don't know how exactly. Help anyone?

you may be using an older version of Rainmeter. I'm using the new version of rainmeter for my programming of skins, the old version needs [!Rainmeter...] in the menu access, the new version does not need this. EG old -> [!RainmeterShowMeter Menu] New -> [!ShowMeter Menu]

try updating Rainmeter, the globe icon uses a direct link and will work in any version to date. if it's still an issue let me know I can remodel the skin using the old version which is still compatible with new version.

I discovered a little trick in rainmeter for dragging skins into place the other day. As im sure most of you know as you drag and drop if you hold [Ctrl] it will ignore other skins and you dont have to worry about snapping to other edges.

But there are also 2 other tricks, as you hold the mouse button dragging use the arrow keys to nudge it (about 10 pixels), and as you hold the mouse button, Hold [Ctrl] and use arrows and it will nudge it 1 pixel at a time! get the skin where you want it!

This is actually really well done. Great work.

Couple of suggestions.

You might consider putting just a 1% background on the hex images, so they are a bit easier to click on. Rainmeter ignores fully transparent areas, but if you add a black background in Photoshop and make the background almost but not quite transparent, it will still be invisible to the human eye but will allow clicking in Rainmeter.

The only other thing is some inconsistencies with the highlighting when you mouse over the listed items in the panel. You might want to either look at another method of triggering the highlight (I have not looked at your code, so I don't know if you are hiding/showing meters or using !SetOption to set ImageName on the meters) or maybe set the Update= of the skin lower. Since you are not doing much if any "measuring" in the skin, a lower update rate won't make it use much if any more CPU resources.

All in all, a very well designed skin, and one I'm sure will be a big hit.

Yes I've had the same highlighting problem myself and have been looking at alternative methods to do this, as for the background I'm assuming that the 1% transparent is for easier dragging; personal I have no problem with it bt ill see what I can do

Not so much for easier dragging, but for easier clicking. With the mouse action set on the images inside the hexagon shapes, they can be a bit tricky to click on as they have a lot of transparent areas. If you put a 1% background on the hexagon image itself, and set the mouse action on that, you might find it easier to click on the actions.

I was using the same method as ABP uses for highlighting having a meter with an image hidden just sit there and on hover it moves it into place and shows it. the problem I had with it was the Texts, I had the hight set a little to high and was overlapping.

Thank you, Ive been working on a set along this design, If you like mine I recommend [link] uses hexagons, I like how he does it based on chemical make up of many different things, real cool.
